The Theta Tau Chapter proudly supports the Alpha Phi Foundation through philanthropic events.
We have raised money to educate women on the importance of heart health, promote awareness of women’s heart disease, fund leadership training, and help sisters in need. Our sisters also support many events and charities to improve our community. Alpha Phi sponsors our own events to raise awareness within the RPI community and raise money for the foundation. We also enthusiastically partner with other greek houses to hold co-sponsored philanthropy events.
It is also important, to the sisters of Alpha Phi, that we support all other greek houses, sports teams, and club in their philanthopy events. We sponsor a team of sisters to attend every philanthropic event on campus.
The Alpha Phi Foundation
Alpha Phi Foundation empowers women to be generous givers. We raise and award funds for programs that advance leadership development, encourage academic excellence, improve women’s heart health, support sisters in need, preserve heritage and educate about the value of philanthropy.
As a preeminent philanthropic organization, Alpha Phi Foundation is recognized for the strength of our endowment and for innovation in cultivating and sustaining donor participation. We strive to be philanthropy-of-choice among our members, with every Alpha Phi supporting the Foundation.
Alpha Phi Foundation’s donors support our vital programs: unrivaled leadership training, scholarships, and Forget Me Not funding for sisters facing crisis. Our Heart to Heart and community grants raise awareness and education of women’s heart health. We’re proud to join with our donors in changing the lives of Alpha Phi women, and women everywhere.
Women's Heart Health
More women than men die of heart disease each year. Today, heart disease kills one in three women. It is the leading cause of death of American women and kills more women age 65 years and older than all cancers combined. These statistics underscore why the understanding of this disease continues to be a priority.
The Alpha Phi Foundation educates women about the value of heart health through collegiate and alumnae chapter Red Dress events (the red dress is the national symbol for women and heart disease awareness). Chapters are also encouraged to promote awareness of women’s heart disease during February’s National Heart Month and on Wear Red Day which takes place the first Friday of each February.
